Delve deeper to get an Insight into the Islamic religion

Islam tops the popularity as the second most followed religion. It is an interesting intrinsic religion with two major sub-sects – Shia and Sunni, both following the Quran as their holy book. The Quran leads them to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, who is known as the messenger of Allah. From his appointment by Allah as the messenger to his work of recounting Allah’s teachings in the Hadith form, the foundation of Islam is laid. At mosques, muslim men and women come to mosques to pray to Allah and offer prayers to him. Peace and Submission to the Will of God : The word ‘Islam’ has a very significant meaning. It implies peace. That peace can only be ascertained as per one’s willingness to submit to God’s will. Islam says that God is a supreme power and his children must give in to his greater will. The Word of God – Teachings of the Quran : As mentioned earlier, God assigns his prophets, known as Rasools, to spread his teachings among his children. The God relays his words to the Rasools and they share them with the masses. The written form of the words of God is what we call the Quran – the holy book of Muslims. Around 1400 years ago, it was revealed to Prophet Mohammad, and since then, there have been no changes in it. Zakat : Islam propagates peace and help for those in need. It is why Zakat, meaning charity, is specifically mentioned in their holy book. The Quran stresses it specifically multiple times, saying that God guides his disciples to save a small portion of their earnings. The idea is to use those savings to make donations to needy individuals. Prayer’s Direction : Like any other religion, muslims also have their religiously significant location, known by the name of the Holy Kaaba at the Holy city of Mecca. Prayers have a huge importance among muslim individuals. There are many rules for offering the same. One of those rules includes praying in the right direction, that is, in the direction of Mecca. Offering Prayers Five Times a Day : Rules related to offering the prayers for muslims are well laid out and structured. The holy book clearly mentions the frequency of prayers as well, which has to be ideally performed. According to the Quran, a devoted muslim must pray at least five times a day, from dawn to evening at specified timings, to get the blessings of Allah.
