Sarva Pitra Mahalaya Amavasya is the final and significant day of Pitru Paksha, dedicated to honouring ancestors and seeking their peace and spiritual liberation. The puja includes Sankalp, Pitra Tarpan, Pind Daan, sacred offerings, prayers, and traditional Vedic rituals performed in the holy Gaya Kshetra. It is considered especially auspicious for ancestors whose death tithi is unknown or whose Shraddh could not be performed. The rituals may be performed at sacred Pitra Teerths such as Vishnupad, Phalgu River, and Akshayavat.
